Finance Manager
⭐ About Tagvenue
At Tagvenue, we’re building a SaaS-enabled marketplace that is redefining how people discover and book venues around the world. We’re a team of highly capable and deeply curious people who care about solving meaningful problems and influencing how the venue-hire market operates globally.
Every month, thousands of events are planned through Tagvenue - from corporate offsites and private dinners to workshops, film productions and weddings. We connect people with unique spaces, matching what users need with the best venues on our marketplace.
⭐ About the Role
This is a foundational, hands-on Finance Manager role covering our UK and Poland entities, reporting directly to our co-founder and CEO. As the business scales, so does the complexity of the finance function. This role takes full ownership of it end to end.
We're ideally looking for someone available around 25-30 hours per week across five days, but we'd also consider a full-time arrangement for the right candidate.
You'll own the accuracy of our books (with an accounting specialist and external accounting, tax and legal partners across the UK and Poland handling day-to-day execution under your sign-off), while personally driving forecasting, cash management, cost optimisation and the systems that keep finance efficient as we grow. You'll work with a modern stack that includes Xero, Pleo, Symmetrical, G Suite, Coda, Looker and Claude.
The function is still young, so you'll have real influence over how it's built.
⭐ What You’ll Do
You'll own and sign off, while our finance specialist handles day-to-day execution:
Run the monthly close across our UK and Poland entities; protect balance sheet integrity across accruals, deferrals, intercompany and revenue recognition
Make sure statutory reporting obligations are met; coordinate our UK and Poland accountants
Own ledger hygiene: chart of accounts discipline, reconciliation standards and accounting policies
Keep VAT, payroll tax and other statutory payments on time in both markets, backed by compliance checklists and audit trails
Monitor tax-treshholds in Singapore, Australia and US markets and act when necessary
Be able to step in and cover core bookkeeping tasks during absence or rotation
You'll do hands-on:
Own forecasting and budgeting (monthly, quarterly and annual) with clear scenarios and assumptions
Produce management accounts and variance analysis across P&L, cash flow and key drivers
Present financial results to the Board; support the founders' relationship with investors
Manage payment rails, FX execution and cash movement across entities; keep cash safe and interest-earning
Drive advisor-backed tax optimisation and manage transfer pricing across the UK and Poland
Identify and execute on cost cutting opportunities
Cut manual finance work through better tooling; build controls like automated reconciliations by design
Manage external accounting teams; maintain the SOPs, calendars and escalation paths that keep execution predictable
Keep the company legally on track across the UK and Poland, managing external lawyers and monitoring regulatory change
⭐ What We’re Looking For
You've actually run a close yourself, not just reviewed one someone else prepared. You can explain how a set of books gets from messy to signed off
You have your own techniques for catching data errors before anyone else does
You've worked across accounting, FP&A and compliance, ideally spanning more than one jurisdiction (UK and Poland experience is a strong plus)
You're energised by modernising finance tooling & processes rather than defending whatever's already in place
Familiarity with tools like Xero, Pleo or similar is a plus, not a requirement
Nice to have:
ACCA or CIMA qualification (or working towards one)
Experience in a high-growth scale-up environment
⭐ What Makes Us a Great Place to Work
Competitive compensation
Flexible working hours
24 paid days off per year & all bank holidays
Birthday day off
Private healthcare
Growth budget for books and courses
And because we’re part of the events industry, we celebrate:
Every quarter, we meet in Kraków to connect in person, recharge, and have fun together 🎉
